Got My Official Accreditation! |
| November |
The quarantine period for the Asian Games, is halfway now. At the CHIO showground, Qabil, Wup and Joyce are preparing for the biggest event of Asia, held every four years.
"It was a long day today, but still not boring, I managed to do a lot and get everything organised. We exercised Wup early in the morning and that gave us some hours extra during the day. Wuppy had a relaxed day, some light work, grazing and hand walking. He just loved it!
By the way, Wup has got so many carrots that he has enough for a month I think. We had ordered a little bag per horse, but that appeared to be a big bag per horse. I thinkthey will not be all eaten by the end we leave quarantine. In the meantine Fia works had on bribing Wup with her apples, carrots and TLC.
Big news, we got our official accreditation, it's in my suitcase! It was quite a story to get them here. A Malaysian stewardess who happened to fly to Amsterdam brought then. There, Kathy (Qabil's sister in law) her parents picked them up (from Breda) at Schiphol Airport and then brought them here (in Aachen). Accreditation for the entire team, great, thanks a lot, great job!
Did you know that the Asian Games will be the biggest sport event in history? The Olympic Games in Beijing had a little over 10.500 athletes. This Asian Games will have almost 13.000 athletes! The opening and closing ceremony are expected to be bigger and more spectacular than those of the OG in 2008. It will also be the biggest Asian Games in history, because after this Asian Games, they will cancel 8 sports for the following games.
During the afternoon I managed to do a lot of work, that was very nice to get a lot of things organised again, like emails, etc. In the eventing we had dinner downtown at the Argentinian Steakhouse. However, we discovered that the police is also working on Thursdays, as we got a parking ticket... Thank got it was not my car and it was not me driving!"
