Scheduling is important, but you can't control everything...

January

I LOVE scheduling, every day, week and also the whole year. Not only because otherwise I can't do all the things I would like and have to do, but also to have everything well organised, so no coincidence. However you can't control everything...

Until this morning 8.45am, everything was still under control. I had spent my entire evening to clean my tack, sort it all out and pack my stuff for the show. The tack was as shiny as could be, I was proud.
At 8,45am I turned on my computer and found out there had been a severe accident on the highway, where owner Hans has to pass twice in order to get Wup. The road was blocked, two people died in the car crash. Hans was on his way, but had to drived many kilometers extra and was an hour behind schedule. And I had only calculated half an hour extra in case something would happen that would cause a delay. And guess, on the next highway there was laying a truck on the road, so next traffic jam!

Fortunately we were so lucky that Wup arrived just in time. Five minutes for tacking up, 20 minutes to warm up and then do the test. Just calm down, relax, starting thinking again and focus on what you have to do. And so I did...

But it all gave me three extra grey hairs on my head.... got one year older today, while it's not even my birthday yet... that's this Wednesday!
