| 23 | Day 4 USA: Long day, great hikes |

On day 4 of our holiday through the USA came a long day, actually longer than scheduled...
We started our day in Port Angeles. We drove to Lake Crescent and hiked up to the Maymere Falls in the early morning.
We went back up to the north-west coast, through Clallam Bay and Neah Bay, real Indian Villages, looks like being back in time. We went toCape Flattery with a long hike through rainforest area to the most north-west point of the USA. We had a great view on the Pacific Ocean.
Unfortunately we had to drive all the way back, as our navigator told us we could drive to Ozette Lake, but we ended up driving a dead end road with a fishing pond. That meant one and a half hours back....
Halfway the day we arrived in Forks and went to the Hoh Rainforest, where we also did a long hike. With a tremendous speed, cause hikes of an hour only take 40 minutes. At the end of ourvisit there we saw two beautifulRoosevelt Elks.
Our final destination of that day was still 200km away from Hoh. A very lon day travelling to Kelso. Michael did a great job driving the car.

Wat een lange dag hebben jullie gehad. Maar zo te lezen was het zeker de moeite waard om de prachtige natuur te zien.
Goede reis vandaag.Comment posted by yvonne | 23-06-2011 | 20:09
