The coming winter season will be different from the ones before. It is a season in which it's all about 'horses' and 'sport' for Joyce.
"Soon there will be changing several things for me. Some of them have already started. I hope for a unique and beautiful Winter and a super 2012.
There are some horse updates. Wup and I are still in training for the Grand Prix. We are gradually working on a competition debut. He is sound, fit, healthy and happy and every day we train with a lot of pleasure.
Apart I.Dancer is doing Z1 classes now with both my rider Corine Wielheesen and myself. She has booked a lot of victories already. On the 1st of November I will be moving this horse to a barn that is closer to my house, so I need to travel less during the Winter period. Corine will no longer be training her then, however she will still do some competitions during the Winter.
Dinola I.Dancer did an amazing IBOP KWPN test with a score of 80 points and now we will gradually train her less. She is in foal by Zizi Top and will give birth to her foal already by the end of February.
The yearlings Fame I.Dancer (Quattro x Apart I.Dancer v.Jazz) and Farah Diba I.Dancer (Don Schufro x Sandro Hit, a full sister of the famours 3yr old KWPN mare De Mijne C) do well. Next year they will turn two and they live together at my barn.
Concerning the training, I train several times a week under supervision of the Dutch team coach / trainer Sjef Janssen. Also Anky van Grunsven helps me every now and then, when Sjef is not around for example. It is very educational and very interesting and I also try to teach my students everything I learn at the Anky Education Center.
With Nars Gottmer and Egbert Wiechers I again have two students that do well in the (international) Grand Prix. Besides them I train the Brazilian dressage rider Gabriela Caruso Kandir and Taiwanese Kuo Li Yu. They are aiming for the continental games or maybe the Olympics in a few years time. My Belgian student Ciska Vermeulen is qualified for the Paralympics in London in Grade IV and will again have to show her top shape next year.
Very interesting and challenging projects that take quite some time, but I just love to teach my students!
