Day 2 in NYC was absolutely worth a blog. We actually did too much to mention, but there is a lot to explore in this city!
Early in the morning we walked to a restaurant for breakfast. It was so nice and quiet in the streets, super. Later that day we discovered it would never be so quiet again.
We started with an early walk to Planet Hollywood, to pick up our city passes. At 8 we stood on top of the Empire State Building and enjoyed the view over the city. It was sunny and hardly windy, wow! No fog or anything.
After that we went to the 9/11 Memorial site, on ground zero. That was so impressive. I got emotional, by seeing the monument with all those names.
We walked through Battery Park, TriBeCa, China Town and Little Italy.
We always meet somebody that we know when we are on holiday. This time it was ourfriendLonneke Engel who works and lives as a model in New York. She showed us around SoHo and took us to The High Line. A super nice park!
The way back we walked even faster than we are used to, although the feet already hurt a lot. That was because we wanted to be in time for ice hockey, the NY Rangers were playing in Madison Square Garden. We managed to get tickets and watched the game, great!
We walked more than 20 km today.... now tired!
