BLOG: Day 3 in NYC |
| March |
Our third day in NYC was once again an active one, but that's me, I always have to do something anyway!
We had an early breakfast (jetlag again) and took the subway to Battery Park, where we hopped on a boat to the Statue of Liberty. We were lucky, as the sun was shining. We managed to take beautiful pictures.
After a walk alongside the Hudson River we took the Water Taxi to Brooklyn and walked all the way back to Lower Manhattan over the famous Brooklyn Bridge. Back there, we came across a demonstration of the Occupy Movement, which was actually quite funny. So many police officers and some yelling people. Later that day we saw it all on television...
With the subway we went to Central Park, where we hopped on a bike for a two hour bike ride through the park. Fantastic to see all those people walking, jogging, playing, relaxing, etc. Even the speed skating park was still open. The park is so beautiful and big!
We had looked really forward to the evening, as the NY Knicks were playing basketball in Madison Square Garden. However we did not manage to get two seats close to eachother and the tickets were so crazy expensive, that we decided to watch it on a big screen in a pub sith other fans. Also fun!
