This Saturday, Joyce competed Apart I.Dancer in a big show in Kootwijk (NED). The way to the show was even more nerve wrecking than the show itself, because Joyce almost crashed into a car that suddenly decided to stop and block the road, while Joyce approached a traffic light with car and horse in the trailer behind it.
"The rest of the trip my heart was beating like hell... The trailer slipped behind the car and the horse almost fell really bad. Thank God she has good leg protection and we have a solid car and trailer. Nothing happened, but it was so frightening.
In the warm-up she was amazing. She has new shoes, also behind, where she never had shoes before. She seemed to be very secure and was great in the first test, in which she came 3rd out of 30 riders. In the second test she was spooky at flags etc. We made many big mistakes, but despite that she has so much quality that we still came 12th out of 30...
On Sunday we will travel to Winterswijk. My horse and I are spending the night at my parents place, as that is much closer!"
